About US
I am a writer, journalist, editor and content creator who is always looking for the exact, appropriate word – the mot juste – in everything I do. Over the past three decades, I've worked as an anti-apartheid journalist (South, New Nation, Post Natal, Sunday Tribune) and also as a features writer, mostly about music, but also on culture, films, art, travel, education and parenting. I've been the South African correspondent for Billboard Magazine and the Music Editor for Rolling Stone South Africa and have written extensively for Sunday Times Magazine, Business Day's Wanted supplement, Mail & Guardian, Daily Maverick and too many other publications to list here. In keeping with the changing nature of media platforms, I’ve become a versatile producer of different kinds of digital content including website and social media content. I completed a MA in Creative Writing at Johannesburg’s Wits University in 2015, and I am still working on the book that emerged out of it.
I am joined on mot juste by Jay Savage who writes about music, film and culture. It’s his poetry that is published here. You can find more of it here.
